Imperial Civil/Banner War

Per the bylaws, there is an Imperial War held over the Memorial Day Weekend. This weekend is reserved for Imperial Civil War. If no civil war is declared, then the war may be fought for the amusement of the populace. There has not been an Imperial Civil War since the dawn of time, so the populace is used to thinking of this as Banner War. It is important to remember the difference, though. Until 30 days prior to the war, we must think of it as Imperial Civil War. Only if no one declares against the Imperial Crown, we can adjust our thinking into having a "Banner" War.

As the Imperial Chancellor has received no declarations of Civil War for 2005, the May War will be fought for the amusement of the populace over Memorial Day Weekend.

It has been requested that Domains be permitted to fight for the Banners, and we whole-heartedly have agreed. All subdivisions are also encouraged to field Armies to fight for the Banners. All Domains and the members thereof, regardless of home Kingdom, Archduchy, Duchy, or Shire, are permitted to fight for their Domain, if they so choose, or their home subdivision, if they so choose, with no reprecussions from either - other than good-natured ribbing...and perhaps ransoming...maybe a sword or arrow to the head...you know - all the fun stuff.

*Domains that have presences at multiple warsites will fight each war independently; ie, the Domain of World Dominion (made that up) in the SE may fight for the SE Banner, and also may field an army in the NE to fight for the NE banner, and also take the field in the West, if they have a presence in each area. Note each is a separate war, unlike Imperial Crown War, with the prized banners and bragging rights for the Victors.
